My name is Agnieszka Peczkowska and I am a clinical psychologist & sexologist. I truly believe that every person should be able to receive relevant information and support regarding their mental and sexual health. I aim to provide reliable and straightforward knowledge in a supportive atmosphere and deliver it in an accessible way. I focus on adapting my therapy sessions to be relevant to my clients regardless of their gender, relationship type, sexual experiences, values and attitudes. I believe that every person has a unique history and should be an expert in their own life. If you are ready to explore what is getting in your way and to figure out what to do next, I am here to provide you with the right psychological tools and support.
During our therapy work, I will support you in exploring your history and discovering patterns that you may not even be aware of so that you can gain more knowledge and control of your attitudes and beliefs, build meaningful relationships and improve your well-being.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy is based on the theory that the way individuals perceive a situation is more closely connected to their reaction than the situation itself. Individuals’ perceptions are often distorted and unhelpful, particularly when distressed. During our work, I will help you identify your distressing thoughts and evaluate how realistic these thoughts are. You will learn to change your distorted thinking. When you think more realistically, you feel better.
Therapy will give you individually based strategies and tools adapted to your needs in the current situation but also will give you confidence in how to deal with any challenges present in the future. I focus on collaborative relationship - we work together on figuring out what is not working currently in your life, what are your values and aspirations and how to let you achieve them. We will continually monitor your progress by checking your questionnaire results and well-being. Our work will also include action plans (therapy assignments) as it is important that during each session collaboratively decide what you can do to make your next week easier and closer to reaching your goals.
